Arizona saw the largest growth in clean-energy job announcements during the second quarter, reports the Yuma Sun.
A new report out from Environmental Entrepreneurs said Arizona businesses planned to add more than 3,000 jobs related to renewable energy this year, with the majority to be hired for the $1.5 billion San Luis Solar Wind Energy Tower project.
The San Luis project was one of five in Arizona that announced hiring plans in the second quarter, according to the report. Other projects include Jinko Solar, which plans to add 300 jobs in Pima County by the end the year; and Vivant Solar, Luke Air Force Base and OneRoof Energy, which plan to add a total of 410 solar jobs in the Phoenix metro area.
The report does not measure specific hiring, only businesses' intentions to hire.
